We are very sorry to inform you of the PERMANENT CLOSURE of Villa Extramuros, as from July 1st 2026, due to the sale of the property.
Unfortunately, the future ownership is not considering opening the property and maintaining the activity as a hotel, guest-house, or holiday home.
Consequently, there is no alternative to closing Villa Extramuros’ doors on June 30, and therefore we cannot accept any more reservations for the coming year and after.
We are very grateful to the almost 7000 guests who visited our Villa during these last 15 years. We wish happy holidays in Alentejo anyway.
VILLA EXTRAMUROS OBTAINS
ONE MICHELIN KEY
On May 15th 2025 was published, for the first time in Portugal, the Michelin Keys awards, the equivalent for hotel to the Stars for the restaurants. And we had the pleasure to have Villa Extramuros awarded with 1 Michelin Key (like only 55 hotels in Portugal).
The criteria for the Michelin Keys are :
- The hotel is an open door to the destination
- Excellence in interior design and architecture
- Quality and consistency in service, comfort and maintenance
- Consistency between the level of experience and the price paid
- Individuality, reflecting personality and authenticity

The Villa Extramuros and the Cabanons appear in the April/May 2019 edition of the French lifestyle magazine "Maisons Cöté Sud " . A 12-page story where you can see the latest interior decoration, in addition to outside views where are missing neither the cats, nor the sheep of our shepherd Alfredo.
